Why Is This Blog Here?
Tuesday, 6 January 2009
Hello Extra Cash Systems Weblog readers/subscribers!
Yesterday someone posted a comment on this blog, and I replied to it here: “Money Animal Review + Comments“. I encourage, and short of begging for, want comments, interaction, from my subscribers/readers. That interaction, among a few other things, is why I even have this blog.
So, today’s posting, as part of Colleen Slater’s 30 Day Blog Challenge, is about…
“Why Is This Blog Here?”
Okay, so maybe the TITLE of the blog/site is lacking focus? Extra Cash Systems
When I started this blog (site), back in 2007 (first post here), my goal at that time (and still is) was to try and focus on the science and system of making (earning) money on the internet. It is a SCIENCE, and it is a SYSTEM. However, “Extra Cash Sciences” didn’t sound too appealing to me, so I went with “Extra Cash Systems“.
The primary purpose of this site is to MAKE MONEY. However the money is made, whatever science or system, the primary purpose is MAKING MONEY. All other considerations are secondary. That’s not to say that the other considerations aren’t important, because they are.
One of those secondary (I’m going to stop using that, I’m going to just say “other”) purposes is to EDUCATE. I want to not only educate the visitors here, but also (learn by doing) educate myself. Anyone can take a textbook, read from it, and perhaps pick something up from it. It’s proven though, that by DOING, you actually retain, and learn, more. Have I learned all that I need to learn? Definitely not.
Another of the reasons I have maintained this site, is to entertain. While I certainly hope the entertainment isn’t (or wasn’t) at my expense, I’ve no doubt that some readers have left here laughing. I know that I have, at some of the sites I’ve visited, while “learning” and researching the topics I’ve posted here. There’s even been times that I’ve posted things here solely for the “entertainment” value. I firmly believe that “Laughter is the best medicine”.
Something I’ve learned, and this was learned while I was maintaining this site, was to “brand” myself. More than a few successful internet marketers have remarked that they recognize “ECS Dave“. Heck, they even know what the ECS is an abbreviation/acronym for. Do you? Hint, it is NOT “Elite Computer Systems”, though at one time I did own one of their mainboards for my computer. Why don’t you leave a comment with your “guess”… LOL
While I’m not as wildly successful as I’d like to be in growing my internet marketing business, I can say that I am enjoying it, and that I PLAN to continue. Something the great, fantastic, awesome and amazing (hmmm, is that enough?) Mr. Frank Kern wrote, in the Mass Control package I bought, was this;
“Never, ever quit!”
I’ve seen that exact same “credo” in a good many of the other internet marketing folks that I’ve have the good fortune to become acquainted with (no particular order, and advance apologies to those I may miss):
Colleen Slater
Ross Goldberg
Matt Bacak
Brian McElroy
Carrie Wilkerson
Sam Clark
Pamela Troeppl
Bev Clement
Willie Crawford
Joel Comm (thanks again for the autographed book)
Sid Hale
Mike Filsaime
…and many, many others…
I stopped “naming names” when I realized that some might construe that as a tactic to “drive traffic“. Guess what? It wasn’t, but if it helps, that’s something else I’ve learned. Use what works…
After all of that, do I recommend something? You got anything ECS Dave, for the folks that have read “all the way down here”? Maybe something for FREE? Or maybe something that you’re promoting as an affiliate marketer? Well, there’s quite a bit of good stuff over to the right, and up a bit… And there’s this:

Hi ECS Dave,
It’s Asher here, nice to see you participating in the
challenge as well! I’m excited to participate in this
blog challenge.
I’ve been trying to create a brand for myself as
well & have been thinking about it for a looong time.
I think it’s time to change my blog’s name & start
branding myself
At least that’s what I got from the Virtual Seminar
that I first saw ECS Dave in!
To the top,
Asher Aw

I’ve got to get busy with my next “masterpiece” blog post, so I’ll say again Thanks for the comment, and…
